Frequently Asked Questions

A safety deposit box is a secure, individually assigned container stored within a high-security vault, accessible only to the key holder. It provides a safe and discreet way to store valuable possessions that you may not wish to keep at home or at your workplace.

Clients pay an annual rental fee for the use of their box, which is protected by multiple layers of security, including state-of-the-art biometric access controls. This ensures that only authorized individuals can access the contents, giving you peace of mind that your valuables are safeguarded at all times.

When combined with our escrow services, Heavens Gate also provides a secure framework for holding funds or assets until agreed-upon conditions are met, allowing clients to manage high-value transactions with confidence and transparency.

A safety deposit box offers a level of security and peace of mind that cannot be matched by typical home or workplace storage. While home security systems provide some protection, they are limited in scope, and homeowners can, in extreme situations, be compelled to open personal safes under threat.

By storing your valuables in a high-security safety deposit box, you ensure that your most important possessions are protected from theft, loss, or unauthorized access. Additionally, using a safety deposit box can help reduce your home contents insurance premiums, offering both financial and security benefits.

When paired with our escrow services, you also gain a secure, neutral solution for holding funds or assets until contractual obligations are met, giving you confidence in both the safety and management of your valuables and high-value transactions.

When you rent a safety deposit box with Heavens Gate, you will receive two identical keys for access. If one or both keys are lost, it is important to notify Heavens Gate immediately. You will then need to schedule an appointment with our team to ensure you are present when our company locksmith safely opens your box. Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of the locksmith service and any necessary repairs.

  • Replacement lock (engineer required): $350

  • Replacement access card: $35

Access to your box cannot be granted without the proper access card, so it is essential to keep it secure. At Heavens Gate, your security and convenience are our top priorities, and our team is here to assist you should any issues arise.

Yes. You are not permitted to store any items that are illegal or controlled e.g. firearms, explosives, gas canisters, liquids or perishable items. See our terms and conditions for a list of additional prohibited items.

You can visit us in-person any day during our opening hours, call us to book an appointment or reserve a box online. At Heavens Gate, only individuals registered to use your safety deposit box are permitted to access the vault area and your box. To maintain maximum security, no more than three people may be registered to access a single box at any given time.

For safety and legal reasons, persons under the age of 18 are not permitted to register for or access a safety deposit box. This ensures that access remains secure, controlled, and fully compliant with our strict security protocols.

We are open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6:00 pm and 12 noon to 4 pm on Saturday & Sunday.

Yes. At Heavens Gate, a comprehensive insurance policy is available to protect the contents of your safety deposit box. This coverage provides peace of mind, ensuring that your valuables are safeguarded against loss or damage while securely stored in our high-security vaults.

Approximately one month before your contract expires, Heavens Gate will contact you to arrange renewal of your safety deposit box rental. If you choose not to renew, both keys and access cards must be returned in person before your contract’s expiration date.

Please note that late renewals will incur a $250 fee. For full details, please refer to our terms and conditions or contact our team directly.

At Heavens Gate, each safety deposit box is secured with a dual-lock system to maximize security. When you rent a box, you are issued the only two keys that can open it.

Access requires both the customer key and the Heavens Gate “house key”, which allows the customer key to be inserted. This system ensures that neither the customer nor Heavens Gate can open the box alone, providing an added layer of security and peace of mind for your valuables.

If there is no ‘specified person’ registered on your account at the time of your death, then normal legal processes will prevail. Once the estate has been granted probate, the executor of the estate will be assigned access to the box. The person reporting your death should bring a certified copy of the death certificate to our office. Access will be allowed to the box for the purposes of probate valuation only. No items may be removed until such time as a relevant grant of probate has been shown.

Yes. Heavens Gate is proud to be the only safety deposit box provider offering private high-security walk-in vaults. These vaults measure 5 feet wide, 10 feet long, and 9 feet tall, making them ideal for the secure storage of paintings, sculptures, fine art, and valuable furniture.

Our walk-in vaults are maintained at a constant temperature, ensuring the optimal preservation of your valuables. Due to limited availability, we recommend pre-booking to secure your private vault.
